About Luceo’s Broadband Waveplates

Luceo manufactures broadband (achromatic) waveplates for a wide range of wavelengths in the visible wavelength region. Luceo has developed RETAX, a series of broadband waveplates, comprising Broadband RETAX and Super Broadband RETAX categories. Super Broadband waveplates achieve constant linear retardance in is the range 450nm ~ 1100nm. Luceo also can manufacture these products at wavelengths longers than 1100 nm. Luceo RETAX Series Broadband WaveplateProducts

RETAX wave plates comprise a film made of birefringent materials glued to the glass plate. Some of the waveplates manufactured by Luceo we offer.
  • Broad RETAX: The B-RETAX-1/4λ waveplate is a circularly polarizing plate with an improved isolator function that effectively blocks light reflection. It realizes constant 1/4 retardance for the visible wavelength region.
  • Super Broadband RETAX (3 Layers): It realizes constant linear 1/2λ retardation for the frequency ranging within the SB-RETAX-3L-1/2λ waveplate. It can change polarization and light direction in broadband when linear polarized light passes through this waveplate.
  • Super Broadband RETAX (3 Layers): SB-RETAX-3L-1/4λ is a super broadband circularly polarizing plate which achieves constant linear 1/4λ retardation for any wavelength range within this waveplate. When incident light passes through the plate and is reflected on the surface, the circularly polarizing light has an isolator feature that blocks out the reflected light.
  • Super Broadband RETAX (5 Layers): The SB-RETAX-5L-1/2λ broadband waveplate realized constant linear 1/2λ retardation for any wavelength ranging from 450nm to 1100nm. This waveplate can change a polarization direction and light quantity in broadband when linear polarized light passes through it.
  • Super Broadband RETAX (5 Layers): This SB-RETAX-5L-1/4λ super broadband circularly polarizing plate is realized by combining SB-RETAX-1/4λ with a broadband polarizer. It realizes constant linear 1/4λ retardation for any wavelength ranging from 450nm to 1100nm. The isolator blocks the reflection light when the incident light passes through the plate and is reflected on the surface.
