Thermal Conductivity Sensors

As an authorized distributor of Hot Disk Instruments, Barnett Technical Services offer three types of Hot Disk sensors for exclusive use with Hot Disk® instruments, configured with various Measurement Modules. These sensors test thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity, featuring a double spiral patterned Nickel foil and claddings in Kapton, Teflon, and Mica. This design allows Hot Disk sensors to operate in diverse temperatures, environments, atmospheres, and media. The Nickel spirals provide sensitive temperature readings. We also offer Hot Disk’s new Hot Cell sensors for testing the heat capacity of a wide range of samples including battery materials.

Hot Disk sensors with Kapton insulation are designed to operate up to 300°C (or 400°C in an oxygen-free environment), while Mica-insulated sensors function within the 300°C to 800°C range (or up to 1000°C in special cases). Teflon-insulated sensors are suitable for acidic or corrosive environments up to 250°C. These varying claddings make Hot Disk sensors versatile and capable of performing in diverse testing conditions, ensuring accurate and reliable measurements across different applications.
